Marten Blom

First prize winner of the Classic Rock presents Prog CD competition.

 

Marten Blom's illustration for the CD cover of a free CD to go with the magazine " Classic Rock presents Progmagazine " was chosen out of 30 other artworks sent in.

 

Mark Wilkinson, a wellknown name in the world of Music CD illustration, who created artworks for the likes of Marillion, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, was the juror in this competition. Marten received his prize in the shape of Mark's latest book, "Shadowplay" , signed by the author himself.

 

The original painting, sent in for the competition, can be viewed at "Artworks", top left in the menu.

 

Marten has made many oilpaintings and murals on commission and for his own enjoyment during the years. He was always inspired by artworks on rockalbums of Marillion ,Yes and Pink Floyd.
